DanceMax Studio is the home of Consett's largest freestyle disco dancing school. We have recreational classes of over 80 children and a competition team of 45 who travel the country in search of trophies and titles. We run classes for children from 2 years old, and perform during local events, fayres, demonstrations, competitions, shows and exams. 

We begin at DanceMax by teaching our new beginners PopDance. This is a fun, friendly and energetic dance style with which our children can learn to become confident performers and lay a foundation of technique and flexibility. Our PopDance classes are suitable for any child with or without experience in dance.

We also run baby & toddler sessions (seasonally) on a weekday for our littlest dancers to come along and enjoy music and movement!

All of our classes are friendly and inclusive - we have dancers of all abilities and will accommodate any child where possible. Please do not hesitate to ask if you think your child may need adaptations or extra help!

PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP TO ANY CLASS WITHOUT BOOKING OR CONTACTING US FIRST - WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PERMIT YOU TO ENTER WITHOUT BEING INCLUDED IN OUR CAPACITY NUMBERS.

We have our own fabulous, purpose designed studio at DanceMax. We have two studio spaces inside, Studio 1 is our main hall where all our classes are held. We have a sprung wooden floor within Studio 1 which makes it safe for our dancers to train. We have a secure kitchen area so we can provide drinks for dancers, and hot refreshments for parents. There is seating available and you are always welcome to stay and view classes. 

Studio 2 is our smaller space which we utilise for private tuition and the smaller Elite team rehearsals. This studio space is fully mirrored which enables our dancers to view themselves training, apply corrections and harness their performance qualities. This space also has a kitchen area.

We have our own toilet facilities (separate male and female) which are not accessed by anyone else, a baby changing station within the female toilets and a small waiting area with comfortable seating should you need to stay between classes. Should you need to access the baby change as a male please ask Kirstin as we have signage to use on the door which allows you to enter the female toilets as needed.

We love the wonderful space we have managed to secure for our dancers and we appreciate your help in keeping it clean and tidy. Please clear up any rubbish after yourselves and keep the noise to a minimum in the communal areas so we do not disturb classes or our neighbours in the snooker club downstairs.
